What do you think is the root cause of abusiveness?

I am not wanting a simple, pat answer of "needing Jesus". Some abusive people can even be leaders in Churches. I am looking for specific roots.

Although abusive people like to instill fear in others (their "loved ones"), I am coming to believe it comes from a deep rooted fear in the abuser. He/she is so afraid that they have to control by whatever means.

What are some of your ideas as possible root causes?

VPN is (Virtual Private Network) were first used by companies to enable their employees to securely access internal systems such as email remotely (e.g. from home or while on business trips). Today they are increasingly being used for personal use by individuals to protect their privacy while online in public places (e.g. when using the wi-fi connection in a cafe) or in a country where the internet is censored / blocked (e.g. China, Saudi Arabia…).
